So I moved to Bristol on a bit of a whim in January, and it has been the best decision I could have made. I haven’t been taking that many photos (I’ve managed to lose one of my cameras and had to sell my Bronica and Lightmeter, rubbish!) but I’ve been having lots of fun. So for now, here’s a couple of photos from a disposable camera of some of the amazing graffiti that Bristol has to offer.

I’ve finally updated my Tumblr after a manic few months, hurrah! Sadly it’s only with some of my Major Project work, so nothing new…but hopefully I’ll be a little more proactive with this blog next year.

I’ve decided to pack up and leave Brighton and start a fresh in Bristol as of January- since leaving University in the summer, the last remaining fragments of stability in my life have been taken away (and this isn’t including the post-uni void) I’ve been left feeling quite confused, alone and unsure of why I’m even in Brighton anymore.

I’m sure this sounds all very melodramatic when read from a computer screen, but I’m sure my close friends will agree I’ve had a bit of a rocky time recently!

Hopefully Bristol will give me the new start and inspiration I need…bring on 2012!

This body of work is an exploration into the fragility of the family structure. The dolls house that my father built many years ago, now deteriorating through years of neglect, mirrors the recent separation of my parents and the breakup of my family. What once was a secure, safe place full of fantasy and make-believe is now an unstable shell. It is a bleak reminder that things will never be the same again.

Handed in my final major project on monday….so sad to think that these 3 years are over :( But I’m relieved that I’ve handed it in, it felt like I’d been doing that project for an eternity!

The only thing left is some P.R stuff and to hang my exhibition prints….I had a look at them today at the workshop, and I was really pleased with them- although I’m mega worried they are going to get scratched :/ they had to be printed and mounted twice as they got scratched in the workshop, eeeek. So I’m just praying nothing happens to them between the curating/hanging and the opening night!
